Natal Moon in the 1st House

When the Moon is located in the 1st house of a natal chart, the native becomes a sensitive and intuitive person. Feelings are very important for him, and he can be rather hasty in his reactions, deciding his movements without depending on logic and common sense but rather on his intuition.

They are rather passive, except if a strong masculine planet is present in the first house. Their behavior is quite moody and changeable – this is due to the fast movement of the Earth’s satellite. Their feelings are fluctuating in the same way that the sea tide does; there is a monthly pattern that more or less reappears. Even in Male horoscopes, it gives to the individual, bio-cycles connected with the Lunar calendar instead of the Solar one. Any man with the Moon in the 1st house will have some feminine behaviors, but the Moon does not affect so much his sexual preferences; these are mostly indicated by Mars, Venus and their aspects.

Regarding the appearance, the Moon in the 1st house gives a pale skin to the native, which can be nearly totally white if the Ascendant falls in a Water sign. The hair tends to be black or at least dark, and again, it is more likely if the Moon resides in a Water Sign. Their cheeks are quite rounded, while their weight can often fluctuate during their life. Their overall appearance changes through time; they are frequently following the trends in fashion and might even annoy their friends by stealing their new fashion style as soon as they see it. If the Moon is somehow connected with Venus, then fashion might be the most important thing in their life.

Natives with the Moon in the 1st house have a very deep relationship with their mother and copy many of her characteristics and attitudes. In their love life, they adore cuddling and exchanging feelings of safety with their partner. In addition, they are rather romantic; they will frequently express their affection in offering presents, organizing surprises or otherwise externalizing their positive feelings. However, and even when their love-life is going well, they spend several days per month in melancholy without any apparent reason. Usually, this is connected with thoughts about possible negative events regarding the future of their relationship, and such emotional states should be avoided since they can co-create the reality that is to come.

Their Lunar character makes them easy to manipulate, especially in their young ages. They are prone to melancholy, like the darkness of the night and feed on moonlight; if their natal Moon in the 1st house is heavily afflicted, they are likely to develop lunacy, melancholy, hysteria or other mental disorders that will be following the phases of the Moon even if the native is not aware of that. Moon in 1st house people can be very psychic, catch future events through dreams and “read” the feelings and thoughts of other people just by being near them. They are very nurturing, and love to make their dear people feel comfortable; the same applies to themselves – they adore feeling tenderness and being cared of. Their emotions are difficult to hide, and other people can easily understand the mood of such individuals.

The Moon is the planet which is most responsible for cooking, and people with this placement are usually great both in cooking and in enjoying food. If their 6th or the 10th house cusp falls in Cancer, or the Moon is elsehow connected with a planet in the 6th or the 10th, then the person might even choose cooking as a profession.

The Moon creates people that are very dependent on others. They do not yearn to become leaders; they prefer to follow someone even if they are not somehow weaker than him. They like to reflect more than radiate, and this functions great for them if the Moon is not very afflicted. In the opposite scenario, they can easily follow wrong paradigms, follow dishonest people and copy some of their characteristics. If such a thing happens, the individual should break any ties of dependence and try to seek his real self again.

Hi, thanks for the wonderful article.

Moon in capricorn is generally considered a difficult position for the moon. Is it more prominent if this moon is placed in the ascendant? Does the placement and dignity of Saturn in the natal chart have any bearing on this moon placement?

Thanks

Probably internal changes constantly like emotion and viewpoint, very very restricted/subtle expression externally.

My moon is in 1st house with Libra ascendent. This is article is very accurate, I’m great at picking up emotional cues from people I love or don’t even know. I’m passive and emotionally versitile, with noticeable stage presence but also super imaginative. With minimal effort people tend to like me. I’ve never been in a physical fight, because I can always calm tension.
