Natal Venus in Virgo

With your natal Venus in Virgo, the earth sign will blend with the planet of affection, gifting it with analytical attributes and affecting everything that Venus represent in your natal chart. Venus is generally governing pleasure and what attracts us, attachment to material things and subconscious urges to claim and make something our possession. It rules what we appreciate and brings us comfort, and of course feelings that can be described under the category “love”. Virgo energy will make the native rather selective concerning his partners, and his high standards cannot be easily satisfied. Such individuals tend to seek some type of perfection that usually does not exist, or does not last for long, thus having unrealistic expectations concerning affection towards others. Yet, this placement gives a deep love for books and knowledge, becoming a great tool in the native’s life.

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, and has planet Mercury as its ruling celestial body. Virgo is also the natural ruler of the sixth house, which rules our daily routines, job, health and service towards others. This will make Virgo Venus people quite obsessed with small details they notice in other people. They show their affection through providing help and service, and frequently become an ally for other people’s self-improvement. Yet, this can be sometimes misunderstood or received with mixed emotions from other individuals, as a Virgo Venus does not hesitate to criticize and correct others. In the end, some people receive real and useful help from such individuals, while some others just get nervous from this type of interventions. Venus in Virgo natives should practice discretion and be sure that someone really needs their help, in order not to become pressuring or unpleasant through the good deed they are willing to do. They cannot tolerate boredom in relationships, and will easily end an affair when they feel that the communication is not offering them the necessary hype to keep the flame alive. Any relation that is too much on a material level and only connected to the body and not the mind, simply does not interest a Virgo Venus.

In the sign of Virgo, Venus is in fall and thus in its lowest potency. Virgo is located at the opposite of the sign of Pisces, where Venus is considered in exaltation. This is a rather impractical placement to have in a natal chart, as the gentle, moist and feminine traits of Venus do not blend well with the over-analytical and serious characteristics of Virgo. The planet of love needs flexible and receptive surroundings to bloom naturally. Virgo is too organizational as a sign, imposing patterns and borders, which definitely does not help the free flow and function of Venusian currents. Love cannot be planned or pressed, it comes by itself and does not adhere to any doctrines. Also, as we already mentioned, the sign of Virgo can easily criticize and has a pessimistic tendency to notice those details that do not comply, instead of focusing on those that are acceptable to the native. Even when a Venus in Virgo native is in love, he might concentrate on such small things, subconsciously sabotaging the relationship. Their practices can be very well described by the popular saying “He received a horse as a present, and was examining its teeth”. Additional information about Venus’ potency in each sign can be read in the article about Venus’ Essential Dignities.

We should note that Venus needs around a month to move to a next sign, and is the second quickest moving planet, as it is located very near the Sun. Also, it cannot be more than two signs away from the sign where the natal Sun resides in. Once per year and a half, Venus has a period of retrograde motion, where it moves backwards for apparently 40 days in the natal chart. Venus is impersonated by the ancient Greek god Aphrodite, who was the goddess of love, pleasure and beauty. Also, she is strongly connected to procreation, and naturally represents the divine feminine as an archetype (together of course with the Moon as it is the one side of the Sun-Moon dual axis).

This placement is ideal for people that are involved in intellectual occupations, that use speech and data in any form. As we already mentioned, such individuals love analytical thinking, and have a natural tendency for organizing and filing. They will be very happy to be surrounded by information of their interest, and will be able to consider their work as a hobby and not get tired easily. Writing, working in a library, and generally categorizing data may give them a feeling of deep satisfaction, as they will perceive such projects as an empire that they are building. Virgoan perfectionism will usually push them to finish their projects, and not hopelessly multitasking between different quests. Indeed, a trait of Virgo is to concentrate on a certain subject and do some in-depth work on it.

When it comes to affairs, Venus in Virgo can be rather problematic. The usual status in which such individuals function better, is being single. Indeed, many times a Virgo Venus will be a loner, perfectly satisfied being one and not having strong needs to feel being in a relationship. They need a lot of private space and time, which they might dedicate to their work. Many times, they can indeed be in love with their work, a lot stronger than they can fall in love with any human being. They seem to have difficulties staying happy with one partner for long; Virgo does not allow Venus to shine and shed its love-light due to a lot of filters involving logic and critical prejudices. The closer their partner becomes to them, the stronger the individual will criticize any possible disadvantages of the relationship, even if his mind does it subconsciously. We should not forget that Virgo gives a lot of sterile and cynical characteristics, and even some pessimism and self-destruction. Thus, this is not exactly the healthiest environment for developing Venusian matters in the best way. Still, a Venus in Virgo native can love strongly, because love is not only a matter of Venus. They will choose people near whom they feel emotionally secure, and will carefully select such a person. Subconsciously, they do impose tests on potential partners, and usually have a list of prerequisites that someone must meet in order to be able to enter their heart. Logic and clear thought are frequently used considering their affairs, which can diminish the magic that surrounds the subject “love”.

Another characteristic that can appear to people with their natal Venus in Virgo, is to appear shy when they like someone. Yet, this is not quite the issue; many times they are just calculating their possibilities of success and try to figure out whether the other person likes them through small signals that are either consciously or subconsciously emitted. When they see that someone indeed is interested in them, they feel more secure to proceed, as a possible rejection can hurt them and when many of them are accumulated, they can seriously harm their self-confidence and create pessimistic filters through which they will experience any future attempts to approach new people.

As Virgo is ruling service, individuals with their Venus placed there will show small daily acts of help to their beloved one. They like to offer, and will even develop daily routines of what they provide to the people they care for. This could be small things like making a coffee in the morning, to bringing food from outside. It could be daily caring about their partner’s body and offering massages to taking on their own shoulders some physical responsibilities of their significant other. Through such practical gestures, they can show their affection a lot better than through romantic moves that are mostly symbolic. Venus in Virgo people tend to prefer things that indeed do a difference in the material reality of their partner, and not only alter their mood pleasantly.

As Venus is connected with wealth and money, its presence in Virgo might make the native reserved in spending. They will analyze carefully the usefulness of the desired object, and will wait to think whether they need it rather than buy it impulsively. Venus in Virgo people will search to compare prices, and will frequently choose to not buy something in the last moment, even if they have took the decision to purchase it. In extreme cases, and when Venus is adversely aspected by malefics (mostly by Saturn), the native will appear to be stingy – and even receive pleasure through spending the minimum that he can.

When a Virgo Venus is well aspected in a natal chart, the native can be very lucky in the life area that the sign of Virgo rules. We should not forget that Venus is considered to be the most benefic planet after Jupiter. It will bring unexpected pleasant events concerning the house it resides, and generally help things flow easily. On the contrary, bad aspects to Venus can bring quite a lot of problems mostly connected with overindulging in pleasures. Overabundance for long is not tolerated by the karmic laws, so it is always wiser to exercise modesty.

I’m surprised there’s little mention about this placement’s positive traits. It’s a tricky and difficult one, but also there’s the side that’s SO dedicated, people with such placement know every detail about their partner and will give them everything they can, they’re very devoted.

My Venus is in Virgo BUT in the 7th house, where I have also my Mercury in Virgo, my Sun and my Jupiter in Leo (I was born end of Leo sign, that’s why). The four planets are in a mega big conjonction as THE package of my life, everything in the 7th house ahah
It’s definitely my dominant house and the widest on 3 differents signs intercepting all the Leo sign.
So my question is : house is important here ? Plus this big conjonction right ?
Because I don’t feel cynical or sterile feelings in me at all. It’s just hard for me to fall in love with someone because I need security, clean and intellect. I’m really sensitive, need to take care and need care, feel a deep emotional and sexual connection with my partner, as a fusion. I’m a real passionate and sensual woman hehe -> Mars in Virgo again ! But in the 8th house ;)
