South Node in the 6th house

Being born with the South Node in the 6th house indicates that the native should give less importance towards his work and daily routines. He should be less affected by his relations to his coworkers, employers or employees. Instead, he must try to live a more spiritual life, dedicating his time towards the expansion of his occult knowledge, while also dive deeper in his own subconscious. In addition, a vital karmic request of his path is to learn to heal himself, face his fears and phobias, and concentrate on the health of his mind instead of his body.
As the Lunar Nodes are always opposing each other, a 6th house South Node gives a 12th house North node. That placement has been excessively analyzed in the respective article.

A person with the South Node in the 6th house feels quite comfortable when following strict daily routines and is concentrated on labor. He is good at organizing his time, while also pays too much attention to his health. These are echoes from his previous incarnation, where he was too much focused on sixth house matters. He was probably a workaholic, whose health can have been afflicted due to his stressful everyday reality. People with South Node in the 6th house tend to develop hypochondria, being constantly afraid about their health. The fear itself can trigger psycho-somatic reactions, and create minor or major problems concerning their body. Thus, it is necessary for them to pay less attention to their body, as they become too anxious about it instead of healing it. They should seek answers in the 12th house and a more spiritual life, in order to avoid physical problems. The real source of their troubles lays in their subconscious, and not in the condition of their body.

People with their South Node in the 6th house, usually grow up in such a way that they are full of responsibilities. They are instructed to become good servants, willing machines for others to use. They learn to sacrifice their time to fulfill various duties, and structure their reality in a repetitive way of patterns. Curiously enough, they can feel comfortable with that role and even not care to change it. Of course, this is exactly what such a person must not do. His karmic challenge is the relinquishment of duties imposed by others, and turning towards self-seeking experiences. Such a radical change may even require abolishing people of their surroundings. It will take a lot of courage to demolish “slavery” archetypes from their minds, even if they have good people as employers or “rulers of their time”. Solitude is a necessary process that such a chart owner must experience. In some cases, places of seclusion may help them a lot. Those people can reach their wanted equilibrium when living on the borders of the city or even in nature. In addition, some may experience with an ascetic type of life, connected with monasteries or similar institutions. Yet, the average 6th house South Node person will simply have to retreat a little bit from daily routines.

This placement indicates a strong need for ego-dissolution, meditation, and usage of other techniques that connect him with his own (and the collective) unconscious. Also, such people can even have magical powers, mostly uncontrolled ones which they must learn to tame. That can be particularly noticed in people who in the opposite 12th house also contain vital planets, powerful by sign or strongly aspected by other planets and points.

More than anyone, a person with this placement must concentrate on selfless service. People with the South Node in the 6th house know very well how to value their work, and their challenge is to learn how to do it for free. Curiously enough, as the 12th house is also ruling alcohol and other substances, such type of natives may have to experiment with those in order to learn ways to escape reality. Their sixth house nature can be too much connected with the material world, and this tight tie must break. In the same category of remedies belong a lot more Neptunian paths, such as dancing, writing poetry and generally practicing arts. If you have this placement, search which Neptunian hobby fits you the most, and exercise it as much as you can. Do not be afraid if you are not an expert in it; this does not matter so much. You will eventually start feeding your 12th house North Node through such type of activities and balancing your karmic axis.

Keep in mind that planets such as Venus or Jupiter in conjunction with the South Node in the 6th house can manifest in such a great way that the native really will not want to change his views concerning his working schedules. These two planets, especially if well-aspected, will make it him very pleased in his routines, while also give him a love of small animals. Yet, the presence of small animals, no matter how sweet and fluffy they are, also structures the native’s everyday reality and gives responsibilities. This way, it blocks the necessary chaos that is needed for him to progress. With this placement, do not be afraid to be lazy and less organized. This probably is the best cure for your soul, actually.

We should hereby note that the South Node is debilitating the power of any planet that it conjuncts, and this can even be quite helpful. Malefic planets are still remaining tough to bear, yet they are losing quite a lot of their potency. Of course, benefic planets are also operating less powerfully. Imagine the South Node as a gravitational hole, sucking energy from the nearby planets- no matter what type. The South Node is the entropy, leading the system of your own self towards stability and eventually decay. On the other hand, pursuing the path that your North Node dictates is literally allowing fresh energy flow to your system, negative entropy that protects your soul from getting stuck in stability (even if it’s the type that you enjoy).
Do not forget that by fulfilling the life lessons that the North Node dictates, one can safely activate his South Node house again. If you want to become a worker with a structured life, you can. But to do it safely, learn first of all to care about the health of your mind, which can only happen when you discover what is hidden beneath the first visible layers. Psychoanalyze yourself, get under this veil and fight your phobias.

Learn to leave back your South Node and embrace the lessons that the opposite house has to offer. Yes, you will leave quite a lot of things behind. But it is the only way to make yourself rise as a conscious human being, a person who holds his fate in his own hands.

you are a hypocritical, contradicting idiot who wrote this article. i know you just repeat what rhetoric you have heard about this placement. first you say to demolish the slavery archetype and then you say to try and do work for free. how sick is that? in what world can you do this without depleting yourself? what world can you do this without reinforcing to others that it’s okay to exploit others or there are ‘suckers’ out there, by being the example? and thereby encouraging them further to target others. what has this placement done in virgo south node in 6th house and pisces north node in 12th house? treated literally like cinderella in an extremely abusive household that included rape, torture and constant exploitation as well as being overworked from a young child, then a runaway to homelessness to people sussing out your kindness for weakness and when you do help, they just want to exploit it further. not only do they mistreat you but want to even rape you more, simply because they sense you are giving. does that sound healthy? to end up homeless, destitute, disabled and now on welfare??? huh???!!! does that sound right that every time i helped, it just made me a target of stalking and disgusting propositions as well as people even trying to own and take control over you??!!! what kind of world do you think we live in?? don’t speak for placements that you have not experienced. THE TRICK WITH THIS PLACEMENT IS TO ACTUALLY BE MORE SELFISH AND ESTABLISH FIRM BOUNDARIES AS YOU WERE TAUGHT TO NOT HAVE CONSIDERATION FOR YOURSELF OR TO HAVE GUILT TRIPS ABOUT IT SO THAT OTHERS COULD MORE EASILY EXPLOIT YOU!!!!! THAT’S THE REAL TRUTH!

Hallo, here is a twelfth house north node in gemini with venus and jupiter in a wide conjunction. I think xaos meant that we should offer occasional voluntary service, because if it would become routine would be a sixth house thing. I totally agree with Dansahwen about the guilt trips being a real DEMON for us. Who’s around us knows it and take profit from it. We have to say STOP to this, no matter what they say.

Yes, do voluntary work for free is the key. I’m already doing it before I saw this with the use of my magical powers. I can heal and move energy, alchemist work. If I feel obligated I will use my powers to heal good, but hurt people. They are drawn to my energy

I hear you…. and yes, firm firm FIRM BOUNDARIES…. After escaping society into an Indian ashram I had fully developed my 12th house north node in Leo conjunct mars and Jupiter, I was giving healings for free and the energy would be so strong some people on different occasions said it was too much… well, I went to live in Mexico to do more healing work. It started out great, but soon got hooked into a relationship with someone who has her south node in the 7th, hence, I was carrying her constantly energetically.. I wanted her out of the house, but she had nowhere to return, got pregnant, and from then on the drama started… I tried to build a second home, but instead got abused by workers, gardeners, plumbers, electricians, and when I said I was going on a holiday to someone I believed I could trust, the entire house was robbed, including a VERY LARGE SUM (which I cannot mention here) was stolen from 4 generations in gold and jewelry…. 2 years later the house I finally had finished after being robbed several times of electrical wires, tools, paint, cement etc. and personally threatened, the house apparently has a bad foundation and is sliding… I have been on a guilt trip for wasting my father’s inheretance, and later I fled to a terrain I had bought to built a spiritual ashram,, I lived there for 2 months on my own, but even there I had intruders…. so finally with my last money I bought a luxury home at the edge of the city on a mountain….. I still haven’t found peace, I was extremely happy in India, but the spiritual teacher (Sathya Sai Baba) has passed away…. I am looking for ways to simply start healing for… Read more »

I understood you, what I think is the author trying to tell people who has 6th house South Node shall considering work not only for realistic value, but work for ideal or sometimes, seems no values’s business. (Some times, the misunderstanding just because words we used isn’t so accurate)

I have North node Scorpio 12th house and South node Taurus 6th as well as Sun Virgo with Pisces moon. I relate much of what you are saying… certainly not the easiest of life paths! I believe she was referring to a life of service “free” of ego not money or without an energy exchange of a sort. For the work you do in the world to be heart centered with purpose. A service to others thru service to self attitude. Me personally, have had a life full of great suffering with many of the things you mentioned. I now have rebuilt my life and my life is my work not the other way around. I have learned to heal myself and continue to work on this daily. Because of my suffering I wanted to help others find their way out of their suffering. I have built a healing practice doing just this. Healing others heal helps me heal. My work is not separate than me like a job can be. It is my truest expression of my heart and soul. You have the ability to step into your truth unapologetic-ally because your life experience is of great value! It can’t be learned in a book… your compassion to another alone could be transnational for another and even yourself!! You have much power use it to heal this world… Much love to you!

Well, it’s actually almost impossible to do a good thing and say it’s for a greater purpose,as in really purely for the sake of the deed alone. Firstly people doing good things also benefit the one doing the good deed. If people would feel terrible about helping others, they would never try to do it again., so there is a tint of selfishness or let’s say- enjoying yourself doing it. I don;t know why people seem oblivious to this in the first place, as it’s not a bad thing, it’s just something inherently human and it doesn’t lessen your deed or your nice intentions to help someone who needs it.
Secondly, you also need to sustain yourself in this world because food, water, shelter costs. It’s not unheard of people in monasteries to have an income even if it’s called a collective fund, . Artists on the street also sell their work or skills through drawing caricatures or playing an instrument, busking, or the more renowned ones have expositions.
In my view this placement is more about balancing work/spirituality, being careful about the burnout, or being the ideal employee because people will take advantage of that and build more on your interior force, creative skills and learn to enjoy solitude, because that’s also beautiful. I have this placement in my chart.

Very true. South node 6th house Taurus. Responsibility to others’ problems is really a burden, and the freedom to become a leader and even a vagabond is the cure.
